Remembering John A. Fratto

December 19, 1943 - February 15, 2022
The Bear Creek Ski Patrol team would like to offer its condolences to the family of John Fratto, a long-time patroller at Bear Creek. John recently passed away while patrolling on-duty at Bear Creek Ski Area. John was a dedicated team member for the last 25 year. He protected and cared for the skiing public. John was dedicated to his role as a ski patroller similar to his dedication to his family and the Philadephia Mummers. John was a 40 year member of the Downtowners New Years Brigade and a Hall of Fame member. Thank you John for all that you have done for our team! Rest in Peace!

Remembering Brad Moser

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the loss of one of Bear Creek Ski Patrol’s team members and friend. J. Bradford “Brad” Moser passed away on September 27, 2017 at his home. He was 61.
Brad Moser passed away on September 27, 2017 after a valiant fight with pancreatic and liver cancer. He owned his own business, and as a contractor and master plumber, created masterpieces from outdated kitchens, bathrooms, and other passe rooms in people’s houses. Brad began his skiing career when he was young, and pounded the piste and floated through the backcountry all around the world. He was also a PSIA telemark instructor, and never hesitated to drop a knee in demonstration of the perfect free heel turn. He ended up at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in 2010 as a patroller, after hearing for a number of years from two of his whitewater kayaking patroller friends the many tales of exciting toboggan practice runs down Sasquatch, but mostly about the camaraderie between patrollers. Brad simply loved being part of BCSP and those who knew and loved him will never forget his booming laugh and argumentative style--woe to those who disagreed with him! He will be sorely missed.

Remembering Gene Stachokis

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the loss of one of Bear Creek Ski Patrol’s longtime team members and friend. Gene was a dedicated member of the patrol and has never missed a season since he joined in 1977. Gene had recently been battling cancer and passed away March 4, 2017.
We acknowledge Gene’s outstanding dedication to the Bear Creek Ski Patrol and protecting the skiing patrons of the Bear Creek Ski Resort. You truly represent the Bear Creek Ski Patrol motto “First On….Last Off.” The Bear Creek Ski Patrol team will miss you greatly. Gene, thank you for your outstanding service and friendship. May you rest in peace.

Remembering Peter Lubin

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the loss of another dedicated member of the Bear Creek Ski Patrol. Peter was an avid skier and patroller. He worked for Penske and leaves behind a family. He is survived by his wife Carole and his daughter, Carli.

Peter passed on April 12, 2017. He had battled ALS for the last two years. We will post biography, pictures and funeral arrangements as they become available.

The Bear Creek Ski Patrol thanks you for your dedication and service to keeping the patrons of the Bear Creek Ski Resort safe. You will be missed.
